Tori Amos Releases Video to New Album Track ‘Carry’ – Watch Now

Singer-songwriter Tori Amos has released the first video from her forthcoming 12th album ‘Night of Hunters’, which is due out on 26th September. The track is entitled ‘Carry’ and can be viewed below. Fans can unlock another new album track called ‘Shattering Sea’ by sharing the video via the singer’s Facebook page.
As previously reported by Stereoboard, Tori Amos will be following the release of the new album with a tour of the UK and Ireland in November – see below for dates and tickets.
‘Night of Hunters’ is Tori Amos’s first album since 2009, when she released both ‘Abnormally Attracted to Sin’ and ‘Midwinter Graces’ during the same year. The former reached Number 20 in the UK Albums Chart – the singer’s highest chart position since 2001’s ‘Strange Little Girls’.
Speaking about ‘Night of Hunters’, Amos said: “I have used the structure of a classical song cycle to tell an ongoing, modern story. The protagonist is a woman who finds herself in the dying embers of a relationship. In the course of one night she goes through an initiation of sorts that leads her to reinvent herself, allowing the listener to follow her on a journey to explore complex musical and emotional subject matter. One of the main themes explored on this album is the hunter and the hunted and how both exist within us.”
Tori Amos has frequently been praised for her entertaining live performances, most notably in 2003, when Rolling Stone placed her at Number Five in their poll of the top live acts of all time. She experienced the peak of her commercial success during the mid-90s, when her second album ‘Under the Pink’ reached Number One in the UK Albums Chart and Armand Van Helden’s remix of her song ‘Professional Widow’ topped the singles chart.
