Tori Amos Shares Second Single Shush From Upcoming Album 'In Times Of Dragons'

Tori Amos has shared another track from her upcoming 18th album.
Opening with dramatic piano, the politically-charged Shush introduces a fictionalized version of the Grammy-nominated artist, one who married a dangerous, power-hungry "lizard demon" billionaire, offering another glimpse into the immersive world of 'In Times Of Dragons', which is built around 10 interconnected characters, one for each song on the album. Amos explained:
"He represents what we’re dealing with right now. He sees congressmen, senators, and even probably presidents, as people who answer to him and other billionaires, who don’t think you and I should vote. He’s trying to develop the kind of feudal system we had hundreds of years ago. But it doesn’t look like it once did. We don’t look like we’re in the trenches, in the muck. We have all the cool, digital devices now. So it looks different. But it has the same philosophy."
Following the lead single Stronger Together, featuring vocals from Amos' daughter, Shush serves as the second preview of the follow-up to 2021's Ocean To Ocean', due out on May 1 via Universal/Fontana.
Amos will support the LP with her biggest UK and European tour this spring, followed by a North American tour in the summer. Tickets are on sale now.
She will also take part in three special hosted Q&A sessions at HMV stores in Birmingham, Glasgow and London on April 10, 15 and 22, respectively, where she will discuss the new album and answer questions from fans. Tickets go on general sale at 12pm tomorrow (March 25).
