Leona Lewis Given £100,000 Budget For Game-Show Single Performance

Friday, 02 September 2011 Written by Elliott Batte

X-Factor winner Leona Lewis has been given a massive £100,000 budget for a single performance of her new song on Simon Cowell’s new game-show.

The talent-show mogul has lined-up a new show titled ‘Red and Black’, which will be hosted by Geordie duo Ant and Dec, and will debut this Saturday at 7pm. And, with Leona being one of many stars he has moulded himself, Cowell offered her the chance to put on a one-off super performance of ‘Collide’, the first single from the singer’s new album.

And to make sure it is indeed a one-off super performance, Lewis has a £100,000 war chest at the ready to be spent on anything she or her managers and choreographers feel necessary. The singer has already hired William Baker, creative director of Kylie Minogue, to help put on the show.

Leona has her third album almost finished and ready for release – ‘Glassheart’, is expected to hit shelves on November 28th, two years after ‘Echo’ was released.

And, as with most album releases, a tour is likely to follow – Lewis is expected to schedule a 2012 UK tour in the near future. Stick with Stereoboard for any future Leona Lewis tour news.
