Adele Postpones Two UK Shows After Illness

London-based singer Adele has been forced to postpone two of her UK tour dates after she came down with a chest infection.

The ‘Someone Like You’ singer was due to perform in Plymouth last night and Bournemouth tonight, but after contracting the illness she decided it was best she put off the shows until a later date. All tickets remain valid but any fan can obtain a refund.

Adele revealed the cancellations through her blog yesterday, describing herself as “as useless as a slug right now”. The star wrote:

“Hi guys, sorry about the first 2 shows. I’m as useless as a slug right now, I’ve had a rotten cold since I got home earlier this week and was hoping it wouldn’t make its way onto my chest.

“But unfortunately it has and its leaving me breathless and I can’t hold any of my notes when I sing. And I don’t sound like myself either, because I’m all bunged up and croaky.

“I’d rather not do a show, then not do a good one for you. I have all day today, tomorrow and Tuesday to get better without having to sing or really do anything so fingers crossed I’ll be better. Love you as always, Adele xx”

The post was soon spammed full of get-well-soon’s from fans all over the world, with one user James Tweats saying: “Your health is all that counts Adele. Hope you get better. You make me proud to be British. I love you so much. Xx”

The remainder of her tour is due to go ahead as planned, but the illness could easily claim another few dates – check back to Stereoboard for future Adele tour news.
