Example Confirms Biggest Tour To Date For April 2012 & Tickets

UK Chart sensation Example has announces his biggest tour to date, scheduling five UK shows at some of the country's biggest arenas.

The rapper, who seems to never stop touring, announced the tour after revealing that he found it “weird” that his former label boss Mike Skinner hasnt been in contact to congratulate him on his success. Skinner, who is giving up his musical moniker The Streets this year, gave Example his first big break in the music industry by signing him up to the Beats label back in 2006.

In a recent interview with #5 magazine, Example (real name Elliot Gleave) claimed that he finds it strange that his former boss has not been in contact since he became a chart-topper.

“I haven't heard from Mike for three or four years. I think it's weird. The only reason why I would have liked that call (to congratulate him), because we spent so much time together on tour and I like didn't think we were best mates, but we were pretty close and shared some good times on tour, and to go from someone signing you and putting faith in you and wanting you to do well, which he did obviously and then to never hear from them for three or four years, I find that a bit weird.”

He continued: "I don't expect to be invited around to dinner, but a text or an email saying congratulations on your new song. The Beats label was short lived and it wasn't successful, but it was an experience because I learnt not what to do, for myself and also the industry.

Following the Number One success of his monster hit ‘Changed The Way You Kiss Me’, Example is back with the second single ‘Stay Awake’ from his new album ‘Playing In The Shadows’.

‘Stay Awake’ is produced by dubstep lords Nero and is yet another huge dance anthem from Example. ‘Stay Awake’ was penned afterwaking up at Ibiza Rocks and seeing hundreds of kids still going from the night before.  Example says “it’s about a messed up generation who spend all their money on partying and questioning whether or not it's right. We spend all our money to stay awake the longest”.

Scheduling his biggest tour to date to promote his new album 'Playing In The Shadows' (out now), Example will play five huge UK shows in April 2012.

Example UK Tour Dates are as follows:

April 2012

Apr 24th - Aberdeen AECC

Apr 27th - The O2, London
Apr 28th - Manchester Evening News Arena
