N-Dubz Will Split Within Two Years, Dappy Claims

Pop-rap group N-Dubz will apparently split within the next two years, according to singer and rapper Dappy.

Dappy, real name Costadinos Contostavlos, is now focussing on his solo career and also claimed that the end may be nigh for any new N-Dubz material, saying that apart from the odd track, the trio would simply release a greatest hits compilation before breaking up.

The star has solo single ‘No Regrets’ lined-up for a September 19th release date and is said to have also written some tracks for a solo album, which would probably see a release at some point next year. Tulisa, Dappy’s cousin and co-star, also has a career set out on television at the moment as she continues her stay on the X-Factor’s judging panel – furthering the possibilities of an N-Dubz split.

“The band is definitely going to quiet down for the next year-and-a-half to two years,” Dappy claimed. “We may release some stuff every six months but it will definitely be quieter. Then, at the end of that period, we will do a 'Greatest Hits' or 'Best of N-Dubz'. Then that'll be it: finished.”

He went on to talk about his solo career, which is starting to kick-off.

“It would be a dream for me to get a couple of #1s. Then after that, when I feel I've done big enough for my singles, I'll feel that the buzz is big enough to release an album.

“You don't ever release an album when a label says you should release it. I release it when I feel the buzz is ready. On my album I'm trying to get Rihanna. She knows what I'm doing and she's heard it.”
