Facebook to Add New Music and Video Streaming Services

A new music and video streaming service will be unveiled by Facebook in the near future, which will allow users to see what their friends are listening to or watching.
The new changes will apparently be discussed at a conference on Thursday (22nd), and is part of the new ‘read, watch and listen’ initiative that Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg has started. Also up for a change is the ‘Like’ button, which will be jazzed-up with new user-chosen verbs such as ‘Need’ and ‘Want’.
The music and video streaming applications have supposedly been created with big-time companies Spotify and VEVO respectively, which will allow users to stream songs, television or perhaps even films without even leaving their Facebook page. A lot of other music, video, news and photo companies are also expected to release their own applications for the social networking site, as companies look to expand and modernise with the times.
But the new services, described as ‘ticker’ streams by Facebook officials, have concerned some who think Facebook is becoming more and more intrusive into people’s privacy – some fear they may not be able to watch a programme or listen to a song without it broadcast to the whole world.
