The Stone Roses at Manchester's Heaton Park have become the fastest selling rock gigs in UK History!
With 220,000 tickets sold in 68 minutes, after a frenzied rush this morning, The Stone Roses' initial first two dates sold out within 14 minutes. As fans flocked to the Internet to get their hands on tickets for the long-awaited shows, the demand sent ticketing websites and phonelines into meltdown.
Manchester's Heaton Park has a capacity of 70,000 and with tickets priced at £55.00 each, The Stone Roses will pocket millions for the shows. Ian Brown commented on the fast-selling tickets saying, "We plan on spending the rest of the day jumping up and down with our hands in the air."
