‘This Is England’ director Shane Meadows will be producing a film documenting the Stone Roses’ epic reunion, it has been revealed.
The critically acclaimed film maker, who also directed ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’, will be filming the documentary for the next five weeks while the band ease their way back into the music scene after 15 years out. The director was reportedly at the same conference in which the Stone Roses announced their come-back.
Meadow’s will also follow the band on their three Manchester shows in June and July next year, building up for a feature length films that’ll be a must-see for all Stone Roses fans. The band’s reunion has been one of the biggest reformations of a band ever, with tickets selling out for all three of the gigs within minutes. While the sheer size of the success of the come-back may have surprised some, Stone Roses bassist Mani revealed that he wasn’t at all shocked at how big it’s been.
“I knew all we would have to do would be to play together, put gigs on sale and the people would come,” Mani claimed. “I think this proves me right. I'm absolutely fucking elated. My missus is already spending all my money on shoes.”
