Michael Jackson Fans To Boycott NBC Universal Over Murray Documentary

A huge controversy has been sparked after it emerged American television station NBC is planning to run a documentary about Conrad Murray, the doctor convicted of the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson, and his relationship with the deceased King of Pop.

The documentary is due to air this Friday, but members of Michael’s estate, as well as his proud and faithful fan community, are completely against the screening and want the program axed from the day’s line-up and banished forever. The estate have written a formal letter, seemingly backed by a legal team, that demands that NBC don’t air the documentary, while another statement written by fans claims that NBC are “rewarding a criminal.” Fans have announced that they'll be boycotting all forms of NBC and MSNBC programming in the future should they air the documentary.

Murray, who has been placed on suicide watch in prison following his conviction on Monday, has apparently been followed with cameras since the incident in 2009 which saw Jackson overdose on propofol. The 58 year-old is expected to face four years in jail but will also lose his license to practice medicine, effectively ending his career as a doctor.

The estate and fans alike are extremely angry that just a handful of days after his conviction, Murray will open up about his part in the story, alluding that the jailed doctor is using the opportunity to make money from Jackson’s tragic death.

What do you think of the affair? Should the documentary air or should NBC take it down? Let us know what you think in the comments section.
