Stage Collapse Survivors Seek Damages From Sugarland

Festival goers are suing folk and country duo Sugarland following the stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair which left seven dead and several others injured.

The tragic incident was caused by strong winds that were blowing during the event, causing stage parts and pieces to fall or fly away, eventually leading to the sudden collapse of the stage. While it was the wind that blew the stage down, attendees of the fair have decided to sue the band who were on stage at the time of the incident – as it was their final decision on whether their set was to go ahead.

It is unknown whether the band were warned or advised to not go ahead with the show, after the emergence of what is described as ‘troubling weather conditions’, but the plaintiffs are attempting to claim for a ‘breach of reasonable care’.

The claims are backed by 44 people who were at the fair, who are reportedly fronted by over 20 different law firms, some of which are based in different states. It is thought to have been the biggest claim since the accident.
