Ginger Wildheart to Release Triple Album through PledgeMusic in 2012

Earlier this year, Wildhearts frontman Ginger became the latest in a growing list of artists to launch a PledgeMusic campaign to raise funds for the recording of a new album. Exceeding all expectations, the target amount was reached within six hours of the campaign’s launch, becoming PledgeMusic’s most successful to date.

Funds raised so far have totalled 428% of the campaign’s original target. The new album, which is set to include 12 of 30 new tracks, will be Ginger’s first solo effort since 2008’s ‘Market Harbour’. Fans can continue to pledge up until the album’s release date, which is expected in February 2012, and will receive an exclusive three-disc copy of the album containing all 30 tracks. 10% of all pledges will be donated to Save The Children. Speaking about the campaign via The Wildhearts’ website earlier this year, Ginger said: “I am absolutely blown away by the positive response for, and run away success of the Pledge Triple Album campaign. I had honestly wondered if we would actually make the intended 100% in 60 days. No one, not even Pledge themselves, saw us making 100% in 6 hours!!!”

Next month, The Wildhearts frontman will be heading out on the road with his annual Ginger and Friends Tour alongside Random Jon Poole (Cardiacs), Denzil (Young Legionairre), Rich Jones (Black Halos/Amen), Chris Catalyst (Eureka Machines) and Victoria Liedtke. The shows are likely to include a number of Wildhearts favourites as well as some of Ginger’s solo material.
