Rihanna Continues To Smash Chart Records - And Scores Quadruple #1

Barbados-born beauty Rihanna has continued her international success, this week smashing several UK chart records as well as earning a quadruple #1.

Rihanna made history again this week by claiming two official chart records – with both her new single ‘We Found Love’ and album ‘Talk Talk’ earning her the plaudits. ‘Talk That Talk’ shot to #1 this week, making Rihanna the first ever female artist to get two albums to #1 in the same calendar year.

Additionally, her single ‘We Found Love’ retained its position at #1 in the Official Singles Chart, meaning that she held the top slot in both the albums and singles charts for the second time this year – a feat which no other female artist in history has ever accomplished with different singles and albums.

But, as if that wasn’t enough, Rihanna managed to out-shadow these accolades by securing herself a quadruple #1 – by getting the #1 slot in the Albums Charts, Singles Charts, the Radio Airplay Charts and the TV Airplay charts.

These achievements comes in the same week that Rihanna's sixth studio album ‘Talk That Talk’ became one of the fastest selling albums of the entire year, selling well over 100,000 copies in the first three days alone.

And it’s not just her solo work that’s receiving substantial success, with the singer seeming to have a Midas touch at the moment - Rihanna appears on a staggering 20 singles in the Official Singles Chart this week. In 2011 alone her singles have spent 7 weeks in total at #1, more than any other artist. In total Rihanna has clocked up 6 UK #1 singles, and her solo singles have held on to the top spot for an incredible 21 weeks.

Unsurprisingly, Rihanna was the highest selling singles artist of the year in 2010; she looks set to retain the crown this year, with 2.8 million singles sales already under her belt.

So, with her records selling like wildfire, Rihanna’s amassed a huge following over here in the UK – who can all go and see the star on the road this month and next. She continues her UK tour tonight in Manchester, before heading to Birmingham, London and then Europe.
