Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney is currently touring Europe as part of his ‘On the Run’ tour, and recently played in Milan – where he bumped into Mancunian star Noel Gallagher.
Needless to say, the two got on like two brothers – apart from the fact that Noel was only slightly starstruck meeting one of his heroes. The ex-Oasis star wrote on his blog: “I'm like a small boy when shit like that happens. And he's a true gentleman. The fuckin' daddy.”
Meanwhile, McCartney’s tour will soon bring him back to British shores, where he’ll rock out the Echo Arena, the MEN Arena, and of course, the London O2. McCartney is a big fan of the O2 and told of his love for it.
“Yes, I love the O2, it’s one of London’s great venues. I think one of the things I like about it is that before the O2 arena was built, we rehearsed in what was then the Millennium Dome. I remember my promoter bringing round an American guy who said, ‘We are going to build an arena within this dome’. And we all thought it was a great idea, and now that it’s a reality, it’s especially cool to play.
“I’ve seen some good people there. I saw the Zeppelin reunion that was there. That was amazing. I’ve seen it from both sides and it’s a great place to play. It’s always great to play in London. It’s the home ground and it’s always nice to be home.”
