Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers To Headline Isle Of Wight Festival 2012

It has been confirmed that Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers will headline Friday night of the Isle of Wight Festival 2012.
The performance will mark Tom Petty's first ever UK festival show, joining Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Elbow, Example, The Vaccines, Madness and The Christians on the weekend's confirmed line-up so far. Tom Petty's appearance, which will top the bill on Friday 22nd June, will be his first major UK show in 20 years.
Speaking about the booking, Isle Of Wight Festival promoter John Giddings commented: “We are proud to present Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers at the Isle of Wight Festival finally.
It has taken years to achieve but I’m sure it will be worth the wait - they are one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time.”
Bruce “The Boss” Springsteen has been confirmed to close the festival on Sunday 24th June, with John Giddings revealing he was hoping to book an all-American trilogy of headliners for the festival that takes place between June 22nd and June 24th 2012 at Seaclose Park, Newport on the Isle of Wight. All tickets are subject to booking fees. All children 6 years old and under on 22nd June 2012 can go free of charge but must still be included in your booking in order to receive a wristband.)
