Metallica have extended their M72 World Tour into 2027.
The Bay Area thrash legends will head to a dozen new North American cities for the first time on this run, performing with a their unique 360° stage set-up in the centre of the crowd at stadiums throughout the American southwest, midwest and Canada.
The new leg will kick off at Vancouver's BC Place on May 8 before heading to San Diego, El Paso, San Antonio, Fayetteville, Kansas City, Raleigh, Indianapolis, Buffalo, Madison and Cleveland, wrapping up at Salt Lake City's Rice-Eccles Stadium on June 19.
Support throughout the run will come from Limp Bizkit and Avatar, with tickets going on general sale at 10am local time on September 25. As with previous legs, a portion of the proceeds from every ticket sold will benefit local charities via the band’s All Within My Hands foundation.
The shows will follow Metallica's sold-out Life Burns Faster residency at Sphere Las Vegas, which runs from October 1 to November 7, before resuming in January and continuing through mid-March. They'll also play two shows on East Coast of the United States at Mohegan Sun Arena in the Uncasville area of Montville, Connecticut, on November 19 and 21 to celebrate the venue's 25th anniversary, with Suicidal Tendencies opening night one and Spiritbox night two.
The band are touring behind their most recent album, ’72 Seasons', released in 2023. In March 2025, they put out the live EP 'M72 World Tour: Mexico City', while in June this year, they put out the massive 'ReLoad (Remastered)' box set celebrating 30 years of their seventh album, 'Reload'.
