Folk rockers Mumford and Sons’ keyboard player Ben Lovett has confessed of his love for Azealia Banks’ new single ‘212’, describing the track as ‘mind-blowing’ and ‘incredible’.
The pianist and keyboarder was asked my MTV News who he thought his favourite artists of 2011 while being interviewed with bandmate Marcus Mumford, and the musician picked a couple a lot more ‘gangster’ than you’d have probably expected!
“I just heard an incredible song by Azealia Banks called '212',” Lovett admitted. “It's mind-blowing. I've watched the video for Tyler, The Creator's 'Yonkers' 50 times this year… It's fucking amazing. Brilliant video.”
Marcus Mumford, on the other hand, talked of his respect for a fellow folk-rock band – albeit giving a rather confusing and odd answer.
“Dawes are a really important band for us,” Marcus told MTV.“You would say 'Dawes' because you can differentiate between 'Dawes' and 'Doors' — more like 'Pawn' and 'Porn' — where we can't, it's just 'Porn' and 'Porn' to us, so you never know which one we're talking about.”
The band are currently in the studio working on the follow up their debut album 'Sign No More', which hit shelves in 2009. The record is due out in 2012 - stay with Stereoboard if you want future information and news on the band.NOTE FROM THE EDITOR We don't run any advertising!
