Status Quo & The Christians Announce Headline Show At Liverpool's Speke Hall

Organisers of Speke Hall Concerts 2012 have announced the rockers Status Quo and The Christians will headline the Sunday night concert at Liverpool, Speke Hall on the 3rd June. In addition, Status Quo will play a handful of outdoor Summer shows next year.

Status Quo have sold over 118 million records worldwide, and have recorded 64 British Hit Singles, more than any other band. A spokesperson for event organisers Cuffe & Taylor said. “We see Speke Hall Concerts as a very similar weekend of music, to our flagship event in Lytham St Annes, where we cater for all tastes of music. Status Quo performed at the heritage rock night for Lytham Proms Festival Weekend 2011 and went down a storm. The whole of the Lancashire coast played air guitar to classics such as: ‘Whatever you want’, ‘In the Army now’ and ‘Rocking all over the world’. It is
amazing to think these guys have been in the business for over 45years, and have played gigs such as Live Aid in 1985, to Glastonbury earlier in the year. We are confident that they will bring the same amount of energy to Speke Hall that they did to Lytham Proms, because they are true legends.”

Also appearing as guests on the night, are Liverpool band The Christians, performing some of their soul-inspired hits. The band is currently working on a new album set for release in 2012. Further local support is to be announced in the New Year.

Speke Hall is set to welcome thousands of music fans to the event over the course of the double bank holiday weekend with Russell Watson already announced to headline the ‘Last Night Of The Proms’ on Monday 4th June
