Rapper Slim Dunkin May Have Been Shot Over Candy, Say Detectives

An Atlanta-based rapper who was shot dead a week ago today may have been murdered over a packet of sweets, it has been claimed by detectives.

Mario Hamilton, a.k,a Slim Dunkin, was shot in the chest outside a recording studio after a fight broke out, which officials think was started over some candy. Police have named another local rapper, Young Vito, as the main suspect – and suggested he hand himself in to police over fears for his safety.

Homicide Detective David Quinn is currently in the process of recreating a step-by-step documentary of Hamilton’s death from national television station WSB-TV, and was the first to suggest that simple confectionary may have played a major part in the killing of Slim Dunkin.

He told press: “Someone came in and struck him and a fight ensued. Now the information we're getting, and it's unconfirmed but, witnesses are saying that this whole thing started over a piece of candy.” A police major involved with the incident has also stressed that the reasons surrounding the murder are unclear, saying “It seems everybody witnessed something very different. We're just trying to go back and make sense of everything.”

Dunkin is a member of rap collective 1017 Brick Squad, a group started by hip-hop artist Gucci Mane. Also part of the collective is OJ da Juiceman, Waka Flocka Flame, Frenchie and Wooh da Kid.
