Katy Perry To Write Song About Russell Brand Split

Pop-singing superstar Katy Perry will apparently be penning about her divorce from actor Russell Brand, according to reports in The Sun.

Perry has reportedly kept a diary, in which she has written all of her feelings about her marriage with Brand. Though she’s obviously had a torrid time with the divorce, the Californian is hoping that she can turn her sadness into a heart-warming track – which could feature on her fourth studio album.

The Sun’s source told them: “Ever since problems started to emerge, she penned her thoughts in a diary which she goes back to draw upon for lyrics for her songs. She has always said that writing is almost a form of therapy for her and she would often be found in her dressing room on tour writing in her diary. She spent a lot of time in Hawaii over Christmas writing lyrics to two of her latest tracks.”

Fans could be waiting a while for the follow up to 2010’s ‘Teenage Dream’ – she’s told press that she’ll be taking some time off before she gets back into the studio to record.

“I know you guys want a new record, but I have to live a little so all the songs will be something worth listening to. I think that maybe I'm going to just think about enjoying Christmas and New Year's.”
