Barbados-born beauty Rihanna has caused a stir among parents and anti-drug campaigners after the superstar was snapped smoking what Snoop Dogg would refer to as a ‘blunt’.
The pictures, which see RiRi relaxing and maxing on a sun-lounger in Hawaii smoking what appears to be a blunt, have caused a small amount of controversy, though marijuana is now recognised as having medicinal value in most of the US. A blunt is generally considered to be an amount of bud rolled in either a tobacco leaf, an emptied out cigar or special rolling papers known as ‘blunt papers’.
And if we weren’t 100% sure it was a blunt, the same day Rihanna tweeted a number of weed-related messages – including “Kush rolled, glass full...I prefer the better things!” a line from a Drake song (Kush referring to a type of marijuana), “Waken...Baken...Good morning,” (Wake and bake referring to the act of smoking weed in the morning), and “4:20 ....Hi” (420 is a ‘weed holiday’ in the US, and refers to both April 20th and 4:20pm, the favoured time for stoners to smoke up.
The snaps have probably given Rihanna a break from her usual controversies, which usually involve her raunchy videos and barely-there outfits – her video ‘S&M’ has been banned in over 10 countries.
Yesterday we reported about a medical marijuana dispensary in California that named a new strain of weed it had grown after Beyonce and Jay-Z’s baby Blue Ivy Carter – the bud was called OG Blue Ivy.
