'Our 2012 Olympics Track Is Epic', Say Elbow

English rockers Elbow have revealed that their track for the London 2012 Olympics is done and dusted – and they think its ‘epic’.
The band were given the task of scoring a song to be used by the BBC throughout their coverage of the Olympic Games this summer, and have apparently done a pretty good job. They’ll debut the track in March, but for now, they’ve given fans their word that the track is an ‘epic tune’ that features both the Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Community Gospel.
Speaking to Noise11 about the track, bassist Pete Turner said: “[It was] just an area that we've never explored, really, writing something specifically for something else. And it was great; really good fun. It's a pretty epic tune. It's got the Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Community Gospel on it. I'm looking forward to hearing that. I think it gets its first airing in March.”
Meanwhile, the band are working on their follow up to 2011’s ‘Build a Rock Boys!’, which is set to be their sixth studio album. A release date hasn’t yet been set, but the new record could be out before the end of the year.
