Katy Perry To Repackage 'Teenage Dream' For Re-Release

Superstar singer Katy Perry has announced plans to repackage and re-release her second and latest studio album ‘Teenage Dream’ - a move which has received mixed responses from critics and fans.

The new version of the album, which will be titled ‘Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection’, will feature a handful of new tracks, some of which are rumoured to be ‘Dressing Up’ and ‘Part of Me’ – after demos of the two tracks were removed from YouTube.

Famous producer Tricky Stewart is apparently working with Perry to ‘freshen up’ the album, and said: “This song is really special. It's called 'Dressing Up', so it's going to be a big record, I think. It definitely fits. It's right there in what her sensibilities are as a musician and a songwriter. She doesn't change much. She has a very keen musical taste. It'll be really good.”

But, while the album has earned 2x platinum certificating in the US and spawned five #1 singles, Perry has come under fire for dragging out the album, which originally hit shelves in 2010. One Facebook commenter said: “2010, now 2012 and she is still in the Teenage Dream era? Uhhhh move on to another album,” while one wrote: “I love Katy...but really? Does Teenage Dream really need re-releasing after all the singles. Plus, it's been well over a year since the original version came out.”

It comes just after her decision to re-record an acoustic version of ‘The One That Got Away’ – solely to try and earn a sixth #1 in the Hot 100. You can hear the track below.
