Newcomer Tourist To Release Debut EP In March

New Brighton-based artist Tourist will be releasing his debut 7inch/digital E.P. ‘Placid Acid’ on March 12th, via Make Mine.

Tourist, a.k.a William Phillips, incorporates his love for analogue tapes and field recordings, playing heavy on the melodic, creating a sound that suits solitary listening as much as it works on the dance floor.

While experimenting with his love of synthesisers and sampling in preparation for his own material, Will Phillips started by splicing up other peoples music, leading to a series of remixes under the name ‘Little Loud’ for the likes of Ariel Pink, HEALTH, Yeasayer, Memory Tapes, Goldfrapp and Clock Opera.

The limited 500 piece run 7inch features tracks 'Placid Acid' and 'Jupiter' which also feature on a four track digital EP alongside additional tracks 'Forgive' and 'Fires'.

He is expected to release some live date in the near future – so stay with Stereoboard if you’re a fan. You can check out a preview of the EP embedded below.
