Whitney Houston's Final Two Tracks To Feature On New Film

Whitney Houston, who was tragically found dead on Saturday night, will feature in an up and coming remake of 1976 movie ‘Sparkle’ – and the film will feature the last tracks recorded by the star before her death.

Houston, who was also one of the film’s executive producers, plays the mother of three singing sisters in the 1950s, and was set to be her first big-screen appearance since 1996’s ‘The Preacher’s Wife’.

Two of the singer’s tracks, the last two she recorded before she was found death in her hotel bathtub on Saturday night, will feature on the film – a cover of gospel tune ‘Eyes on the Shadow’, and a duet with the film’s star Jordin Sparks, entitled ‘Celebrate’. ‘Celebrate’ will play through the final credits of the film and was written by R. Kelly.

Speaking of Houston’s death, Sony Pictures said: “Like all those who knew and loved her, we are shocked and saddened and the world has lost an incomparable talent. Right now our thoughts are with her daughter, her family and her friends.”

In other Whitney Houston news, gossip site TMZ has claimed that a ‘family source’ told them that the star died of a prescription drug overdose, and not after drowning in the bath like previously thought.
