The Cure have been hotly tipped as one of the headline acts for this year’s Reading and Leeds Festival, with the line-up for both events set to be revealed on Monday March 12th.
The Cure have already lined-up some European festival dates but gossip site Holy Moly reports that the band will reveal their first UK live dates with the announcement of the full line-up of the 2012 Reading and Leeds festivals.
The site reads: “we’ve just been told that The Cure are soon to be revealed as headliners for this year’s Reading and Leeds festivals. That’s exciting, eh?”
Gossip ahead of the Reading and Leeds Festivals is particularly hot at this time of year, with almost every band under the sun rumoured as a potential headliner at the twin-sited festival. The Cure aren’t the only band to go through the rumour mill this year, after a ‘leaked’ poster was spotted and photographed just a couple of weeks ago.
The poster suggests that the three headliners include Green Day, the Foo Fighters and Kasabian, while the likes of Slipknot, New Order, and The Black Keys are also set to play.
