The Cribs Frontman Opens Up About 'Self-Loathing Issues'

Ryan Jarman, frontman of indie-rock trio The Cribs, has opened up about how his life ‘hasn’t been easy for the past couple of years’, and how his brothers have helped him through one of the toughest times of his career so far.

Jarman recently broke-up with girlfriend Kate Nash and became depressed, confessing that there was a long period of ‘self-loathing’ as well as becoming ‘quite ill’. But now, thanks to his brothers Ross and Gary (who also make-up the rest of the band), the star is back to his best – and is ready to tour in May.

Speaking to NME, Jarman said: “I've been living with Ross for the last few months. We're closer than we've ever been. And Gary's been in America so I go out and see him. I felt those guys came through for me. I was just quite ill last year, during the writing of the record, and it's cost me a lot. I had real self-loathing issues. Things are getting better…the last couple of years haven't been easy.”
