Red Hot Chili Peppers Invite Jimmy Page To Join Them Onstage At Knebworth Summer Show

Red Hot Chili Peppers have invited legendary Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page to join them onstage at their massive Knebworth show this Summer.
Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith told the Daily Star newspaper that it would be “really cool” if Jimmy could could be persuaded to join them onstage in the Summer
“Jimmy Page has come to our shows before but we haven’t had a chance to play with him. That would be really cool so maybe that can happen. Maybe we can get Page to come out to Knebworth. Being a rock fan, Knebworth is particularly exciting. I first heard about Knebworth when Led Zeppelin played there in 1979, so to me it’s hallowed ground and pretty cool that we will be following them. Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Queen and The Who – I grew up listening to them. To go over to be accepted where these guys play blows ours minds. It’s like a bucket list kind of thing, we can tick that one off.”
Following the release of their tenth studio album 'I’m With You' last summer and a sold out UK arena tour last Autumn, US rock icons Red Hot Chili Peppers will return to the UK in June for two massive open-air shows - their only UK dates of 2012. The band have also confirmed a show at Dublin's Croke Park.
Red Hot Chili Peppers will take to the stage at Knebworth Park, Stevenage on Saturday 23rd June, Stadium of Light, Sunderland on Sunday 24th June 2012 and Croke Park, Dublin on June 26th.
