Arctic Monkeys To Write 'Fast Songs' For New Album

Indie rockers Arctic Monkeys have promised their fans that their next album will feature much faster music, after revealing that they're in the early stages of working on their next record.

The band's last album 'Suck It and See' came out just last year, but the band are already thinking of the future and have told Spinner that they'll be livening things up a bit with their new material.

Bass player Nick O'Malley told the site: “It's quite early days yet. We've not really got any songs for it at all. So it's difficult to say what the record will be like. But we're enjoying playing sort of fast songs at the minute, so maybe that'll be an indication that it may go that way.”

The band brought out two tracks recently – 'R U Mine' and 'Electricity' – but have revealed that the pair of singles are unlikely to see a place on the band's next album.

“'R U Mine' and 'Electricity' are just stand-alone singles, but like [O'Malley] said, the songs like that are the most recent things we've done, so if that's any sign of what kind of songs we're writing, maybe we'll go that way.”

The Arctic Monkeys will be touring the US alongside The Black Keys throughout May. Click here to Compare & Buy Arctic Monkeys Tickets at Stereoboard.
