The Beastie Boys' Mike D Pays Tribute To MCA

The Beastie Boyss Mike D has emotionally opened up about the death of his long-time friend and bandmate Adam Yauch, who sadly died of cancer on Friday.

The world-famous rapper, real name Mike Diamond, wrote a touching tribute to Yauch on his Facebook page yesterday, confessing that he misses his pal ‘so much.’

He wrote: “I know, we should have tweeted and instagrammed every sad, happy and inspired thought, smile or tear by now. But honestly the last few days have just been a blur of deep emotions for our closest friend, band mate and really brother. I miss Adam so much.

“He really served as a great example for myself and so many of what determination, faith, focus, and humility coupled with a sense of humor can accomplish. The world is in need of many more like him. We love you Adam.”

The statement comes after fellow Beastie Boy Ad-Rock paid homage to Yauch - a.k.a MCA - earlier in the day, writing: “I'm glad to know that all the love that Yauch has put out into the world is coming right back at him. Thank you.”

Coldplay are the latest band to pay tribute to the star - stay with Stereoboard to read more on that soon.
