Folk-rockers Mumford & Sons have opened up about their up and coming 'Gentlemen of the Road' tour, which will see them performing outdoors throughout the summer in destinations across the globe.
The run of shows will start with the band's one-day event in Greenhead Park, Huddersfield, which will see them joined by The Vaccines, Willy Mason, Zulu Winter, Nathaniel Rateliff, and The Correspondents, and will interestingly not be headlined by Mumford & Sons on any of the dates with a band of their choice finishing up the gigs instead.
Speaking to BBC Radio 1, the band said: 'Gentlemen Of The Road' isn't a Mumford & Sons gig. We are playing it, but it's just as much about the other acts. We've put a lot of effort into each act, from the opening bands to bands who play after we play. It doesn't end with Mumford & Sons.
The band went on to talk about their long-awaited follow-up to their 2009 debut 'Sign No More', saying: Once it's out, it's out, it's something we've got to live with for the rest of our lives, so we have to give it due care and attention and we can't just get it out because it's been the right amount of time between albums.I don't think we've been stunted or hit any massive walls, the process has just taken this amount of time. If it is rubbish, and we listen back to it, that's what we're going to be thinking about for the rest of our lives, so we'll just have to scrap it.
