American rockers Eagles Of Death Metal have today announced a festival warm-up show for Tuesday 21st August at London's O2 Academy Islington.
The premise for the group is simple: it's born of co-founder Jesse Hughes' desire to write music that sounds like the Eagles crossed with Death Metal.
Despite their beginnings way back in 1998, Eagles Of Death Metal did not release an album until six years later. Due to co-founder Josh Homme's commitment to his other band Queens Of The Stone Age, time was limited and Eagles Of Death Metal had to wait until 2004 before the release of their first album 'Peace, Love, Death Metal'.
Following the debut release, a number of television productions snapped up their songs for use as soundtracks and EODM soared high in the popularity charts. The band released their third and latest album 'Heart On' in 2008.
You can catch Eagles Of Death Metal performing live at this year's Reading and Leeds festivals. Prior to that, they'll be performing a warm-up show at London's Islington Academy.
