'Mission To Lars' Documentary To Premiere In June At London's Hackney Picturehouse

The uplifting Metallica-based documentary 'Mission to Lars' will be premiered at Hackney Picturehouse on June 6th 2012 at 9.00pm. Lars Ulrich is a heavy metal God, the drummer of Metallica. Tom Spicer has Fragile X, a form of autism, and lives in a care home in a sleepy Devon seaside town. Lars is touring the world, playing to 30,000 howling metal fans every night. Meanwhile Tom has had a dream for 20 years: to meet his hero, Lars. Tom's siblings, Kate and Will, feel guilty that they don't do enough for their brother so they make Tom's dream their mission.

The film will be shown in Picturehouse theatres nationwide, further information is available here. Directed by James Moore & William Spicer this is a film that looks beyond disability, and uncovers the soul of a very cool guy. Mike Lindsay from Tunng scores, and the soundtrack includes Bob Dylan, Devendra Banhart and Blur.
