Tony Iommi Praises 'Fantastic' Birmingham Crowd Following Black Sabbath Reunion Gig

Last Saturday (May 19th), Black Sabbath made a triumphant return to the music scene after a number of years of in hiatus, resulting in Geezer Butler thanking fans at the Birmingham gig for their incredible support of them and their cancer-stricken hero Tony Iommi.
Now, following Butler's statement on his website which saw him writing 'thank you, thank you, thank you' Iommi himself has praised the fans and the rest of his band in his own statement.
I was extremely nervous beforehand about playing a long set, not knowing whether Id be able to last, Iommi said. It turned out to be no problem whatsoever because Ozzy, Geezer and Tommy were nailing everything; no chance to feel tired! Im really pleased with how it turned out, fantastic crowd and I want to say thank you to all of them for giving me such an amazing reception. On our way again at last! Finally, a special thanks to Tommy; we invited him to play and he was brilliant.
