Buckinghamshire-based rockers Young Guns have unveiled their new single and video ‘Towers’, the fourth single to be taken from their second album ‘Bones’.
The new track is a favourite of the band and their fans alike, and Young Guns singer Gustav Wood has said of the track: “Towers is a really fun song to play live. It’s got a real sense of energy and it was always an obvious choice for a single as far as we were concerned.”
Speaking of the Tim Mattia (Marilyn Manson, The Dead Weather, Cage The Elephant) directed video, Gustav adds: “We wanted to do something different for this video, as our recent videos have been fairly epic, grandiose affairs. We wanted to do the opposite to that and create something a little more conceptual. The video for Towers is actually a prequel to our last video, Dearly Departed, with the storylines linking.”
The band, who released their latest album ‘Bones’ in February to critical acclaim (securing a top 20 UK Album chart position in the process) have just signed a deal for the album’s release in the United States with Wind-Up Records, stateside home to The Darkness, Creed and Evanescance among others.
Before heading out to America to begin their assault, the band recently played a series of Olympic Torch Relay celebrations for Coca Cola, as well as appearances at a host of UK and European festivals (Tramlines, Redfest, Boardmasters, Pukkelpop) on the horizon, culminating in a penultimate slot on the Festival Republic stage at the Reading and Leeds Festivals.
