Canadian electronic-indie band Purity Ring have announced a three-date UK tour, in support of the release of their debut album ‘Shrines’.
The band, hailing from Montreal, Quebec, will head over to British shores this November, where they’ll perform in London’s Scala on the 20th. They’ll then head east for a gig in Bristol’s Thekla venue, before rounding off the trip with a performance in Manchester’s Sound Control. Tickets are onsale now and will cost you £9.00 + fees (£10.00 + fees in London).
Purity Ring are inspiring duo who managed to write, record, and release music within the confines of the most basic set-up; one vocalist, Megan James, and one multi-instrumentalist, Corin Roddick.
Forming in 2010, the band combine written work transformed into lyrics with a collection of percussive and melodic instruments, which Roddick has turned into a tree-like controller which he uses to both perform and control the lighting at their gigs.
Releasing their debut single ‘Ungirthed’ the same year, the band continued to write and release until they’d finished what is their debut album, out now. Now all that’s left of phase one of Purity Ring’ is to tour it - and that’s what they’re doing with the remainder of their 2012.
