Superstar singer Katy Perry is celebrating two years since her world-beating second album ‘Teenage Years’ hit shelves in 2010, her most successful record to date.
Selling more than 5.5 million copies worldwide, and hitting #1 in nine different countries, the album has had a huge share of success - not least over here in the UK. Since its release, ‘Teenage Years’ managed to remain in the Top 20 for the following six months - a feat not many artists can boast - and has barely left the UK Top 40 in the past two years.
It’s also on the verge of becoming 4x platinum, after selling over 1.1 million copies in the UK alone, something mirrored by the singles from the record, which have sold over 4 million copies themselves.
The album saw her earning spots on the cover of all kinds of magazines, including The Guardian Weekend, Esquire, and Q, and even the music videos it has spawned have seen incredible success - with the total views adding up to well over 60 million - equal to the population of Britain itself!
Rounding off the campaign for ‘Teenage Dream’, Katy Perry recently released ‘Katy Perry: Part of Me’ - a behind the scenes film of the international superstar’s life both on and off-stage, as well as her California Dreams Tour - for which she sold out every one of her 124 tour dates. A DVD and Blu Ray will be released later this year.
