Justin Vernon To Leave And End Bon Iver Following Tour

Justin Vernon, frontman of American indie-folk outfit Bon Iver, has announced that he will be leaving - and ending - the band at the end of their current European and UK tour, claiming that it had become too much of a distraction.

The award-winning outfit, who are currently riding the success of their second album ‘Bon Iver, Bon Iver’ - which charted at #4 and #2 in the UK and US respectively - will hit the UK this November for what could be their last ever tour.

Speaking to US Radio programme The Current, Vernon explained: “[After the tour we’ll be] winding it down. I look at it like a faucet. I have to turn it off and walk away from it because so much of how that music comes together is subconscious or discovering.”

He continued: “There's so much attention on the band, it can be distracting at times. I really feel the need to walk away from it while I still care about it.”

He did not completely rule out the possibility of the band returning at a later date, though, and added: “If I come back to it – if at all – I'll feel better about it and be renewed or something to do that.”

If you’re a fan of the band, you can’t afford to not catch them on their up and coming UK tour this November - it could be your last chance to see the band performing live, at least for a long while. You can find tickets by checking the dates and links below.
