DJ Fresh Reveals Diplo Trap Track Collaboration

Drum and bass and dubstep superstar DJ Fresh has revealed that he’s working on a new ‘Trap’ record with American producer Diplo.

The star has been working hard on his forthcoming new album for the past year, and has taken a break from producing drum and bass and dubstep to work on a trap tune.

What exactly is trap music, you may ask? It’s a new, 808-heavy, bass-influenced genre that is sweeping the nation like the screechy wobble of brostep/new-wave dubstep did a couple of years ago. It’s like a crossover of dubstep and dirty south rap instrumentals (imagine Lil Wayne without Lil Wayne actually ‘rapping’ over it).

Fresh isn’t sure when the record will see the light of day, but it is apparently going to come via Diplo’s own Mad Decent label.

Talking about the track via Digital Spy, Fresh said: “We've done a Trap record together that Diplo wants to release on his Mad Decent label. It's still early days about when it's coming out, but I'm really excited. I've always been a big fan of his work.”

If you can’t wait for the new track, his new album ‘Nextlevelism’ hits shelves on October - while you can catch him live in the UK throughout November. Check the dates and links below to find tickets.
