Arcade Fire Perform New Material At Secret, 100-Capacity Gig

Canadian indie-rockers Arcade Fire performed a secret gig under the pseudonym Les Identiks last Saturday (December 1st), performing the material which will form their forthcoming fourth studio album.

Playing to just 100 fans - who were banned from recording and photographing the gig (one even apparently had his phone thrown at a wall for attempting to record!) - at Breakglass Studios in Montreal, the band ripped through their brand new tracks - for which they received a lot of praise.

The tracks have been described as ‘fun, dance-y, and groovy’, as well as having a style ‘rooted in the mid 19th century and the African American history in the US’. An Arcade Fire fan Twitter page also posted:

It’s also been said that the band were joined by two Haitian percussionists, and that their new material has Jamaican influences and groovy 80s music.

Arcade Fire’s brand new album is expected out later in 2013 - stay with Stereoboard to stay up-to-date on the record and any touring plans the band may have.
