London-based indie-folk solo star King Charles, born Charles Costa, has confirmed a lengthy string of dates for a UK tour next April.
The Bob Dylan-inspired, psychedelic folk from this highly rated singer-songwriter has been earning praise from the likes of BBC Radio's Tom Robinson and Huw Stephens. With his music compared to the likes of Pink Floyd's Syd Barrett, King Charles has been categorised alongside contemporary folk bands like Noah & the Whale and Mumford & Sons.
In 2010 Costa became the first ever Brit to win the International Songwriting Competition in Nashville – judged by Tom Waits, Jeff Beck, Loretta Lynn and Jerry Lee Lewis – and was signed by Universal Republic/Island as a result. After signing a global contract, King Charles recorded his debut album, 'Loveblood', in Hollywood, California. It was released earlier this year on 8th May 2012.
