Camden Crawl Announces Changes To Festival Dates For 2013

Off the back of collecting the Best Metropolitan Festival gong for the third time at the 2012 UK Festival Awards, Camden Crawl reveals news of substantial changes for the festival in 2013.

Notorious for delivering a unique experience for its audience, the Crawl, which formed from humble beginnings in Autumn 1995, ten years later underwent a makeover as it re-launched as the UK’s first springtime metropolitan festival. Now, not so much as a response to the very overcrowded early summer festival marketplace, but as a craving to be different, Camden Crawl announces the move of its London event back to its roots and into a darker time of the calendar. Full details of the special edition of Camden Crawl event set to take place in October 2013 will be announced in the coming months.

Spring 2013 will instead witness the festival’s relocation to Dublin to inhabit the 3rd to 5th May Bank Holiday weekend. Last year saw the debut Camden Crawl Dublin thrill novice Irish Crawlers with its eclectic mix of the best new International and Irish artists as they took to the city centre streets extending from the Dublin’s Camden Street area to the popular Temple Bar locale.

The follow-up sister event Camden Crawl Dublin 2013 will look a lot like its sibling featuring more than 150 ground-breaking artists and special guests travelling to Ireland from the UK and around the world alongside the best new Irish talent. Across 20 neighbouring venues, including an outdoor stage, church, pubs and established live music venues, Camden Crawl Dublin 2013 will broaden its horizons from its predecessor to also include cutting edge comedy and film programming.

Each of the festival’s venues will be curated by an invited panel of many of Ireland’s best known DJ’s, independent promoters, media and tastemakers including Whelan’s Live, Hidden Agenda, Karl Geraghty, Strange Brew, Young Hearts Run Free, State Magazine, Mother Club, Ruby Sessions, Dan Hegarty (2fm), entertainment.ie, Sweet Oblivion, Keiron Black, Nialler9, Totally Dublin and Paul McLoone (Today FM). With the line up set be announced next month, the Crawl will continue to feature its affordable one pass system, making it accessible to everyone and a great opportunity for music fans to discover the best emerging talent and next big things.

Set to take place Friday 3rd May to Sunday 5th May 2013, tickets for the Camden Crawl Dublin will be available as single day or weekend passes. Tickets and inclusive travel packages will be on sale from 9am Monday 11th February. For further details head to www.camdencrawldublin.com.
