Sheffield indie-rockers Arctic Monkeys have announced dates for a US tour this spring, sparking hope that their could be a UK tour announcement soon too.
The world-famous outfit have been working on what will be their fifth studio album - the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Suck It and See’ - and will at least have a couple of new tracks to unleash on their American fans this May.
The tour kicks off at Sasquatch! Music Festival in George, Washington, and then takes them to gigs in Missoula, Boise, Denver, Albuquerque, and Dallas. Tickets for the tour go on sale February 8th (today) and 9th - if you’re American, check the link below to try and find a pair through Stereoboard.
The details of the band’s forthcoming album haven’t yet surfaced, so you’ll have to stay with us to keep up-to-date - but what we do know is that the album will be ‘heavier’ than previous efforts.
Frontman Alex Turner previously revealed: “I think we're going to go the direction of those heavier tunes. We did 'R U Mine', and I think that's where it's going to be at for us for the next record. We feel the strength of the last record is 'Don't Sit Down...', the other songs like that - 'Brick By Brick' - the other side of it is fine, but I don't know how much more of that we can do.”
