Sir Paul McCartney, Gotye, FUN., And Mumford And Sons All Win Big At Grammy Awards

Mumford and Sons, FUN., and Gotye all picked up prestigious accolades at the Grammy Awards last night, but Sir Paul McCartney was the biggest winner after grabbing what is his 16th Grammy and earning a spot in the Hall of Fame.

Paul McCartney’s ‘Kisses on the Bottom’ (via Concord/Hear Music) managed to win Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the 55th annual Grammy Awards last night, while his track ‘Band on the Run’ with Wings, a previous winner both as last year’s Best Historical Album and for Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Duo, Group or Chorus in 1974, has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Indie-pop threesome FUN. picked up two highly sought-after gongs too, seeing their track ‘We Are Young’ (featuring Janelle Monae) earn Song of the Year, as well as being named as Best New Artist.

Belgian-Australian star Gotye unsurprisingly saw success, grabbing himself a trio of awards. His smash-hit track ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ ft Kimbra picked up Record of the Year as well as Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, while his album ‘Making Mirrors’ won Best Alternative Music Album.

Folk rock stars Mumford and Sons won the coveted Album of the Year award for ‘Babel’, while they also got the Best Long Form Video award for ‘Big Easy Express’. Skrillex dominated the dance music awards, picking up both the Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronica Album award for single and album ‘Bangarang’.

Superstar singer Adele didn’t manage to leave the ceremony empty handed, picking up the Pop Solo award for ‘Set Fire to the Rain’ (live), while Canadian man Drake somehow managed to win Best Rap Album. The Black Keys’ ‘El Camino’ was given the nod for Best Rock Album.
