Ticket Firm Saves Out Of Pocket One Direction Fans

A family who had accidentally bought fake tickets to a One Direction gig were saved from their nightmare by Viagogo - after the firm handed them free tickets to the Manchester concert.
Kirsty Speakman, from Prenton Gardens near Blackpool, had forked out £270 for tickets for her and her three children to catch a glimpse of world-beating boyband One Direction as they performed in Manchester on their recent UK tour.
But, after the tickets failed to turn up, Speakman was left to battle to win her money back and without any tickets for her heartbroken kids, who’d been waiting since December for the gig. The story was reported in Blackpool Gazette on Thursday (March 14th).
But, after reading about the story, Viagogo got in touch with the paper to make sure Kirsty and her kids got to the gig after all, making the young children’s dreams come true - even providing them with top notch seats.
She told the paper: “I couldn’t believe it. They absolutely loved it and the seats were really good. We were pretty much eye level with the stage. The concert was mostly for the kids and there were so many screaming girls there, it was just phenomenal. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life.”
Speakman added: “Thank you so much for what you have done. We truly are grateful.”
While the gesture of goodwill is a heartwarming thing to see, almost everyone who falls victim to ticket-scamming is usually left out of pocket and without tickets - something we at Stereoboard feel very strongly about.
