Music streaming service Deezer have announced details of the Deezer Bandwagon Tour, a series of special silent discos across the UK, featuring bands like Little Boots, Dog Is Dead, The Ramona Flowers and The Fridge Magnets.
In four secret pop up locations in four UK cities - Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London - Deezer will exclusively invite 300 fans in each city to ‘get on the bandwagon’ and attend each outdoor “silent” concert.
The shows will be performed from inside a mobile perspex box - with fans able to see the band but NOT hear them. However, no one will miss a note, as anyone who is invited to attend a Bandwagon gig or wins a money-can’t-buy ticket will be given a special pair of Deezer “silent disco” headphones.
The Bandwagon tour is a celebration of Deezer’s launch of a free service in the UK. At the end of last year Deezer launched a free, ad-supported service where UK users can now enjoy 12 months of unlimited music for free on their computer when they sign up to Deezer. With the Bandwagon, Deezer is taking free access to music on the road.
The artists, which represent a variety of music genres, have been specially selected by Deezer’s editorial team. Deezer’s philosophy, even down to the way in which Deezer’s web platform and mobile apps are designed, has always been about helping artists to connect with more fans, and fans to discover new music easily, in fun and engaging ways.
Their editorial teams make new recommendations across all musical genres every week. Users can make and share playlists, follow their friends, allow their musical tastes to be followed by others, and pick up musical suggestions from a variety of trusted sources, from media partners to themed radio channels and Facebook friends.
