Imprisoned Pussy Riot Member Vows To Continue Protesting Ahead Of Parole Hearing

Nadya Tolokonnikova, one of the jailed members of Russian activist group Pussy Riot, has vowed to continue protesting via an interview from her prison cell.
Three members of the punk-rock outfit, who are known for their public protests and anti-government stance, were arrested last year after putting on a guerilla performance digging at Vladimir Putin and the Russian Orthodox Church, who have ties with the government.
After being found guilty in August, Tolokonnikova and her bandmates Maria Alyokhina and Yekaterina Samutsevich were jailed, and although Samutsevich has since been released, the other two remain incarcerated.
Speaking to The Guardian in a rare interview from prison, Tolokonnikova has stated that she will continue to fight and protest ahead of her parole hearing on April 26th.
“For me, the parole hearing means nothing,” Tolokonnikova explained. “In our case, the government wants us to recognise our guilt, which of course we won't do. I submitted the parole documents to show that they cannot break a person.”
“My life isn't going to change – there will be new key components because of the experience I've gathered here. The vectors of politics and art will continue the same.”
