Hevy Festival Faces Venue Mix Up

Thursday, 25 April 2013 Written by Owen Sheppard

The hardcore and metal festival has been forced to admit there is no confirmed venue, despite falsely advertising a return to Port Lympne, Kent.

The Port Lympne wildlife park has hosted Hevy Festival since 2009 but management of the venue have revealed that no contractual agreement has been reached about the festival's return to the venue.

The Hevy Festival website yesterday removed all details of a venue and location for the event. Ticket holders now only have information that the festival will run between Friday 2nd and Sunday 4th of August.

Festival Director James Dutton has reacted to the controversy and stated to Kent Online that the festival is “definitely still going ahead” and in the process of looking for a new venue.

Dutton further stated that despite posts on social media suggesting a return to the venue, the festival is instead looking for a new larger location somewhere “closer to London”.

A previous feature of the festival was that guests could also enjoy walks through the safari park as part of the festival ticket purchase.

Booked to play the festival are UK exclusive sets from a newly reformed Black Flag and Killswitch Engage.

Also slated to appear across the three days are: American Me, Black Dogs, Bossk, The Catharsis, Circle Takes The Square, Code Orange Kids, Coliseum, Comeback Kid, Earthtone9, Empress, Eyehategod, Full Of Hell, Give ‘Em Blood, Good Time Boys, Hatebreed, Heights, Horse The Band, It Prevails, LifeRuiner, The Menzingers, Metz, Mine, More Than Life, Palm Reader, Polar, Raein, Tiger’s Jaw, Xerxes,

Tickets are still available from the festival website hevy.co.uk
