Spectrals Unveil New Single ’A Heartbeat Behind’ - Listen Now

Monday, 29 April 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Spectrals have unveiled brand new single ‘A Heartbeat Behind’, as well as announcing some UK tour dates.

Taken from their recently announced album ‘Sob Story’, out June 3rd, the new single perfectly showcases the results of Spectrals brothers Louis and Will Jones’ time in the studio with GIRLS’ Chet ‘JR’ White: an album packed with songs that sparkle. They are catchier, poppier, and more direct than ever before. Above all, Louis Jones oozes a new confidence not heard on previous record ‘Bad Penny’ or his earlier single releases.

Speaking of the track - released May 27th - Louis says:

“This was the last song I put together for the record and it pushed out a few I'd already got bored of. I'd had the riff for ages but it never felt like a proper song and then the chorus just seemed to hit me, chords, lyrics, the lot. I never write like that really, I usually stew over the lyrics for ages then try and bolt them onto various sets of chords I have. I do remember I'd been listening to a lot of Big Star that week.”

You can check out the single below - Spectrals have also announced that they’ll be touring the UK in support of Frankie and the Heartstrings. Check the link below to SoundCloud player to find tickets.
