Fatboy Slim Praises Daft Punk

Tuesday, 30 April 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Fatboy Slim has sung the praises of French house duo Daft Punk - stating that they’ve given electronic artists a ‘kick up the arse’!

The superstar DJ lived up to his ‘Praise You’ megahit after telling The Daily Star that he was overly impressed with the pair’s new track ‘Get Lucky’ - and described them as the ‘last great dance music supergroup you’ll hear’ ahead of their collaboration-filled new album ‘Random Access Memories’.

Slim said:

“I'm so impressed by them. It's a breath of fresh old school air. The EDM thing has become a collection of huge noises that sound the same and are a bit bland. I'm glad Daft Punk have given us all a kick up the arse. They are so simple and melodic. They're the last great dance music supergroup you'll hear.”

The star thinks it’s so good, it’s actually putting him off making a new album himself - so it’s not all good news! Would you agree with his statement though? Let us know in the comment section below.

‘Random Access Memories’ hits shelves next month - keep you eyes peeled on Stereoboard for future updates!
